Meeting
-Gravitation-

It wasn't fair. It just wasn't bloody fair! Here he was, sitting in the VIP box alone while Shuuichi, his older brother's overly hyper boy toy, was on stage singing with his god. Right next to him! And he knew this wasn't the first time this had happened, either. That pink haired mass of energy had sung with his beautiful green haired love before. And where had he been? At home, unaware of the injustice that was taking place right under his nose! It wasn't FAIR!

Tatsuha sighed.

He stood up abruptly, causing the chair he had been sitting in to slide back a couple of inches. He turned and started to walk to the back of the elevated platform, pausing at the head of the steps and looking over his shoulder. He could still see Shuuichi through the railing, but he was no longer singing the high energy song that Eiri had written for Nittle Grasper. He was still there, though, that perfect example of masculine beauty, his green hair looking rather teal in the light.

Oh, how he longed to run his fingers though that soft, green hair, to gaze into those beautiful Royal blue eyes. If only! Sakuma Ryuuichi was far from his grasp, a legend in his own time who probably had fans throwing themselves at him where ever he went. But Tatsuha was more than a fan! He loved Ryuuichi, he knew he did! He loved him so much that it hurt inside. Tatsuha felt his heart grow heavy; Ryuuichi would never know how much he was loved... Unless...

A thought dawned on his mind. He had everything set up to meet Sakuma! Eiri had just written a song for Nittle Grasper. And now he could see Shuuichi waving at the audience (or rather, to Eiri) and lauging at something Ryuuichi had said. It was perfect! He would go down, being Yuki Eiri's younger brother and all, and approach the pair on the pretense of congratulating the pink haired singer. Then would be his chance! Shuuichi wouldn't be so rude as to not introduce them, would he? And then... then!

Tatsuha started down the stairs so fast that he lost his balance and fell almost halfway down. He cried out in pain as he hit the ground, but shot up in an instant and started pushing his way through the crowd of mini-skirt clad fangirls and the perverted teenage boys trying to look up them. Pretty soon he reached a little circle devoid of fans where his brother, Seguchi Touma, and Bad Luck's producer and manager were standing. Eiri gave him a quizzical look as he rushed by.

"Going to congratulate Shuuichi-kun!" he shouted above the noise, smiling and waving at his brother. He wasn't sure if he had imagined the older man sighing above the noise of the crowd or not.

Pushing past at least two dozen other fans, he finally reached the security rail. He ducked under it and half leaped, half flung himself up onto the large stage landing in a heap on the edge of it. He stood up, ignoring the pain and tried desperately to straighten his hair and clothes, a vain attempt after having fallen twice. He gave up, shook his hair out, and made himself walk as casually as possible over to where Shuuichi and Ryuuichi stood talking. Shuuichi had his back turned to him and Ryuuichi didn't seem to be paying attention. Suddenly he felt a surge of panic. After all this time, he was finally going to meet Sakuma Ryuuichi face to face! Could he.. could he really do it?

He didn't have time to decide, as Ryuuichi noticed him then.

"Ano? Who are you?" he asked, pointing at Tatsuha.

Tatsuha felt the hot blush hit his cheeks and he started stammering, trying to get his name out. He blushed even further and closed his mouth, looking down at the ground. He felt Shuuichi turn around and he looked back up. The pink haired singer was just staring at him. He shook his head and tried to recompose himself.

"Eh, uhm... You sang very well tonight, Shuuichi-kun!" he said, the words spilling out of his mouth almost faster than he could say them. He then stood there, holding his breath and waiting for those fateful words.

Shuuichi scratched the back of his neck. "Thank you, Tatsuha-san," he said, and then, "Ah, Sakuma-san, this is Uesugi Tatsuha. He's Yuki's younger brother."

Ryuuichi was all smiles. "How nice!"

Tatsuha bowed low, attempting to hide his blush. "Y... you sang very well tonight, too, Sakuma-san," he breathed.

Out of the corner of his eye he saw Eiri approaching the stage and Shuuichi practically bound over to see him. He was alone with Ryuuichi! His heart almost leapt into his throat as he straightened up, only to find that the green haired man wasn't paying any attention. In fact, he was starting to leave! Before he realized what he was doing, Tatsuha shot out his hand and grabbed hold of Ryuuichi's wrist. The singer stopped and looked at him. He instantly let go, feeling the blush shoot right to the top of his head.

"I, uh.. Uhm, I just..." he stammered, not able to make himself meet eyes with his idol.

"Can I help you?" Ryuuichi asked, his demenor now very serious.

Tatsuha's eyes went wide. "I, uhm.." his mind was blank. Damnit, what should he say? "I-I'm a big fan of yours and I was hoping I could... could talk to you..." he said lamely. How could he have just put his feelings down to something so simple?

Ryuuichi immediately shifted back into hyperactive mode, his smile lighting up his entire face. "Okay! Most fans just want autographs, but to talk? That'd be cool!" He grabbed Tatsuha by the arm and led the bewildered man backstage and sat him down on a chair, crouching in front of him in a very excited and childish way. The position made the dark haired man blush yet again, and he instinctively moved his hands to his lap.

"Cute!" Ryuuichi exclaimed, indicating the blush. Obviously, that didn't help at all. "What do you want to talk about, Tattie-kun?"

Tatsuha blinked. Ryuuichi hadn't called him Uesugi-san, or even Tatsuha-san. He had called him by a much less formal name, as if they had been friends for years. He felt himself start to melt on the chair, but caught himself and forced himself back together.

Ryuuichi's bright eyes stared up at him. "What should we talk about?" he repeated.

Tatsuha looked around quickly. Now was the moment of truth. Now he could tell Ryuuichi his true feelings. "I.. I wanted to tell you that, I, uhm... I love you..." And he realized what he was doing. Was he such an idiot to make a mistake like this? Ryuuichi would think he was a nut if he just blurted out that he loved him. "... your music!" he finished, feeling rather stupid.

Ryuuichi became serious once again, kneeling on one knee in front of the other man and brushing a piece of black hair out of his face. Tatsuha's felt that if his cheeks got any hotter, his face would burst into flames.

"Definantly cute..." he said softly. He stood up and smiled down at Tatsuha.

Tatsuha was sure he had heard that wrong. Sakuma Ryuuichi.. THE Sakuma Ryuuichi had just called him -cute-?

"So," he heard Ryuuichi say as he flopped down into another folding chair, "Yuki-san's brother? Do you write?"

Tatsuha snapped out of his daze. "Uh, well, sometimes. I am better with paints than I am with a pen," he replied.

"Oh, an artist!" Ryuuichi beamed, "I love to draw! Helps get my creativity going."

They continued talking about random things then. Tatsuha had heard from Shuuichi that Sakuma was a very hyper and sporatic person, but this conversation was neither. Ryuuichi seemed very interested in hearing what he had to say, asking questions and, every now and then, interjecting a bubbly comment of some sort. Tatsuha felt like it was a dream, a dream he prayed he would never wake up from.

It seemed like forever later, though it still wasn't enough time to pass, that their conversation was interupted by Noriko's sweet, yet somewhat bossy voice calling to Ryuuichi.

"Ryuuichi, there you are!" she headed over to the pair.

"Hi, Noriko-chan!" Ryuuichi purred.

The petite woman tugged him out of the chair. "Come on! Touma wants to take us to eat and we've been looking all over for you," she said.

"Okay, okay," he laughed, turning and waving at Tatsuha as Noriko dragged him away, "I hope we can talk again, Tattie-kun!"

Tatsuha blinked. "Really?" he asked. He'd just about kill to talk to Ryuuichi again.

"Yeah," came the reply, "How 'bout tomorrow at five? Meet me at NG and I'll take you to dinner! Bye!" He winked and smiled, then turned around lest he fall as Noriko continued dragging him away.

Tatsuha just stood there. He couldn't believe it. Sakuma Ryuuichi, his god, his idol... his love, had just asked him out on a date! A loud "Yatta!" burst from him as he literally leaped in happiness. He had a date with Ryuuichi! He was going to meet him at the NG recording studio and go to a restaurant and talk and eat and laugh and... and... And in all of the chaos in his head, that one question that everyone asks when they go on a date shot to the front of his mind.

"What am I going to wear?"
